cam gear on crooked, and when I torqued it down to the specified torque (I believe somewhere in the 90 ft-lb range), I managed to mushroom the pin down, so the cam looked like it was on correctly, until we pulled the timing covers off, re-installed the timing belt again, and started the car up without them. Then it was obvious something was amiss when the pulley could be seen wobbling. Yeah, I knew and hoped it would be something stupid, and it was. I'm just glad it wasn't any further off than it was, otherwise 6 ov my new intake valves would've surely joined their predecessors.
